Service break on Mahti: August 16 8:00 to August 17 17:00

There will be a service break on Mahti from Tuesday August 16 at 8:00 to Wednesday August 17 at 17:00. During the service break there will be no access to the system, including login nodes and storage system.

During this service break the storage system firmwares and the interconnect firmwares will be updated. These updates should make the network more stable also for large and MPI intensive simulations.  It is important to do these updates as quickly as possible to ensure the stability and health of the storage system. The long duration for the break is an unfortunate consequence of the complexity of the upgrade process.

Additionally we will do some other minor maintenance operations. The operating system is updated from Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.5 to 8.6

Jobs that can finish before the break will execute normally, and any jobs that are queuing when the service break starts will be able to run after it has finished.
