There will be a service break on Puhti on Tuesday October 4 at 8:00 to October  5 at 17:00. During the service break there will be no access to the system including login nodes and storage system. The Puhti web interface at www.puhti.csc.fi will be unavailable until October 6 at 17:00.

During this service break the operating system of will be update from from Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7 to RHEL 8. Tools and libraries on the system will be updated, giving you a more modern environment to work in.  Due to these changes you will have to recompile your application, unless you are using one of the modules provided by CSC.

Note that jobs that remain queuing when the service break start will be removed, since the jobs may not function properly after the update.
