Scheduled service break on Lumi: February 7 8:00 CET to February 23 8:00 CET

On Monday the 7th of February at 8.00 CET (9.00 EET), we will be taking down the system for a large software stack update, with the aim of having the system back in production on Wednesday the 23rd of February at the latest. This is one of the essential steps needed to proceed with the deployment of LUMI-G.

Part of this update is the upgrade of the operating system on all the nodes as well as an update of the Cray compiler and associated libraries. It may necessitate the rebuilding of your applications before they run correctly after the update. Should you need any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact the LUMI User Support Team: https://lumi-supercomputer.eu/user-support

For the service break, we will make a maintenance reservation to ensure there are no jobs running when the service break starts. Shorter jobs may be run before the break, if they can finish before the start of the maintenance.

There is a possibility that we may be able to open the login nodes and storage before the service break is over. Please beware that, in that case, we may still need to reboot the login nodes without warning. We will keep you informed on the progress of the system update in case of any timeline changes.

Thank you for your understanding.
