Fairdata IDA

Fairdata IDA is a part of Fairdata services. It is an easy-to-use service for storing research data and materials related to it.

Faidata IDA allows you to store, organize, and share research data. Data can be made read-only and replicated ("frozen") to prevent data loss. Your data will be available within your project team, but it can also be shared with anyone with temporary shareable links. All data is stored in Finland.

Use of the IDA service requires that the stored data are described as research dataset with Fairdata Qvain tool for others to discover. The described data can be set openly available for others to download or the availability of the data can be restricted. The data owner decides on the openness and use policies for their data.

Fairdata IDA also offers a way to preserve your data by transferring it to the Digital Preservation Service for Research Data.

Faidata IDA can be used through a user-friendly browser user interface or with command line tools.

Fairdata IDA is not suitable for sensitive personal data or data that is under heavy use.

 

If you need to store sensitive data, look into SD Connect and ePouta.

If you need to store active data, look into Allas.

In IDA research data can be stored, organized and shared. Not for sensitive or very actively used data.
