FEGA - FEGA - Services for Research
Federated European Genome-phenome Archive
Federated European Genome-phenome Archive (FEGA) is a service for storing and sharing all types of biomedical data consented for research but not for fully public dissemination. FEGA allows you to store sensitive data in Finland in a way that fulfils all the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Finnish FEGA is a national service based on the central European Genome-phenome Archive (EGA). You can upload your data and the public metadata of your study to the FEGA. The study metadata will be made internationally available in the central EGA, which increases the impact of your research data.
In the central EGA, you can discover interesting genome and phenome datasets from all over Europe and grant access rights to your data. FEGA and EGA are free of charge for academic users.
You can use FEGA through your web browser or through our technical APIs (Application Programming Interface).
Federated EGA is the result of European and Nordic collaboration. CSC is developing the Finnish FEGA service and it will be available for users in 2022.
If you are planning to submit COVID-19 phenotypic clinical data to FEGA, use to the following metadata model (Benasconi et al.2020) to promote interoperability between studies.
