Call for Pilot Projects – Roihu 2026
CSC invites applications for the pilot phase of the new Roihu supercomputer. The pilot will run for approximately four weeks starting in February 2026, but may extend into March, providing selected projects with exclusive early access to Roihu’s full range of compute resources.

This is a unique opportunity to be among the first users of Roihu. Pilot projects will be able to run large-scale workloads, including GPU-intensive “hero” runs, and access specialized resources that may only be available during the pilot phase.
At the same time, the pilot is a key part of Roihu’s acceptance testing. By contributing with an overall heterogeneous workload and reporting their experiences, participants will improve the system’s readiness and help shape the permanent Roihu user environment.
We are seeking proposals from advanced HPC and AI users who are technically prepared to operate independently, adapt their workloads if needed, and provide feedback. Selected projects should be ready to set up their environments quickly, launch jobs autonomously, and share valuable insights to improve Roihu for the entire user community. Each project will also be assigned a CSC specialist as a dedicated contact throughout the pilot, ensuring a direct line for questions and guidance.
Evaluation and Selection
Proposals will be reviewed for technical suitability, readiness, and scientific potential. CSC will make the final selection to ensure a diverse and representative workload mix during the pilot phase.
