Chipster detailed service description

Public Detailed service description

What can user do in the Service

Chipster offers analysis tools for User to analyse their data. User can provide the initial data for example by uploading files from User’s laptop. After importing the data files to Chipster, User can select one or more of those files and a suitable analysis tool. Chipster copies the selected files to an analysis server, runs the selected tool, and stores the result files. User’s initial files and results files are collected to an analysis session (“Session”), which also stores the history of the analysis steps. Files in the Session are part of Content, defined in the Terms of Use.

User can view the files in the Session and run additional analysis jobs for them. User can download individual files from the Session or download the whole Session as a zip file.

Most tools are executed locally on the Chipster servers. Some tools that transfer data from external servers, use external servers to analyse the User’s data, or store the selected User’s data on external servers.

Basic information on user rights management

By default, only the User who created the Session, can access it. User can grant access to the Session for other user accounts or for the support personnel. Either read-only or read-write access can be granted. Granting a read-write access to a Session allows the recipient to do everything what the original User can do, including download or delete the Session or modify its access permissions.
