Applying for resources

Those who do not need to pay for their usage, can apply for resources. See the principles of allocating resources for information on how resources are granted to academic projects.


The upcoming deadlines for resource applications:

Tuesday, October 27th, 2020, at 10 am (deadline extended)
Monday, November 16th, 2020, at 10 am
Monday, December 7th, 2020, at 10 am


Billing units

You can apply for more billing units for your project by filling out an application form in MyCSC.

The need of billing units should be estimated for a period of 3–6 months. The maximum grant is 10 million billing units. You may use the granted resources in all services that consume billing units.

Besides billing units, you can apply for system quotas. Below you will find information on how to adjust them.

Massive Parallel Computing

For massive parallel computing the applicant must establish the scalability of the used program. To be able to run the necessary scalability tests you need a valid user account on preferred CSC computer. More information at rinnakkaislaskenta@csc.fi.
