Data management services for high-quality research

Research data management

Research Data Management (RDM) is key to successful research. It supports data sharing, long-term accessibility, and aligns with FAIR principles—making data Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable. RDM preserves data integrity and fosters future research and collaboration.

We offer comprehensive data management services for all stages of research. Our solutions are customized to meet the specific needs of researchers, encouraging responsible use and management of the data.

Carefully planning and implementing data management from the start of the research process will help ensure that data is documented, organized and stored securely for future use.

Diagram showing the research data lifecycle with CSC services. The workflow begins with creating a Data Management Plan (DMP) and checking organisation-specific guidance. One can search and reuse data through Etsin, Research.fi, and SD Apply. During research the data can be collected and produced with next services: Data storage Allas, supercomputers LUMI, Roihu, and Database as a service Pukki. Data is processed, analysed, and stored using supercomputers (LUMI, Roihu), cloud computing (Pouta), analysis software (Chipster), and sensitive data services (SD Connect and SD Desktop). Data is published and shared through Fairdata services (IDA, Qvain, Etsin) and Federated EGA.
CSC offers data management and computing services for different stages of research.
