Service description
Aila is the data service portal of the Finnish Social Science Data Archive. The portal provides access to an online data catalogue, an online data ordering and download system and a file transfer service for archiving data.

There are no special skills needed.
How to obtain the service
Downloading restricted datasets requires a HAKA user account or a user account separately applied for from the Finnish Social Science Data Archive. Users must accept the terms of use and commit to secure and ethical use of the data as well as proper citation. Depositing research data in Aila requires an archiving agreement with the Finnish Social Science Data Archive, and the datasets must comply with the Archive's appraisal policy.
