Service description
B2SHARE offers researchers a user-friendly, reliable, and secure way to store, publish, and share research data. B2SHARE is part of the broader EUDAT service offering and enables integrations with other services. It supports the FAIR principles, for example, by granting DOI identifiers, facilitating identity federation through B2ACCESS and Haka, supporting data transfer from B2DROP services, improving metadata interoperability, and increasing visibility through B2FIND and OpenAIRE Explorer. EUDAT CDI B2SHARE is a free service open to all researchers and communities, while EUDAT B2SHARE Premium services are tailored to the needs of customer organizations and communities on a contract-by-contract basis. This includes customization of metadata models, storage capacity, and access rights. In addition, CSC offers more extensive user support and a separate user support channel for Premium service customers.
Technical information
The easy-to-use browser interface is suitable for uploading, describing, publishing, searching, and downloading small to medium-sized datasets, and it does not require any special skills. A basic understanding of research data management plans is beneficial. Dataset owners define terms of use of their datasets. Advanced users may benefit from API knowledge, for example, integrations and automation of their data management workflows.

How to obtain the service
EUDAT CDI B2SHARE is open and free to all researchers and scientists who are affiliated with academic research, as well as individual researchers. Individual researchers can self-register for the service. Some communities may limit publishing access based on affiliation.
EUDAT CDI B2SHARE is free of charge to all researchers and scientists who are affiliated with research institutions, and universities as well as to individual researchers (citizen scientists). In joint research and development projects, it is possible, for instance, to modify community metadata schemas. EUDAT B2SHARE Premium service pricing is negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
