Service description
Roihu supercomputer is the national supercomputer of Finland, catering to a wide range of use cases such as numerical simulations, artificial intelligence (AI) and interactive data analysis. It supports small and medium sized workloads, with both CPU and GPU based resources. It also offers special nodes for high memory jobs and for visualization. Usage is possible via web interface, traditional terminal access as well as ReST APIs.
Technical information
Using the HPC environments requires elementary Linux skills, and a basic understanding of HPC environments. We recommend you are familiar with basics of Linux command line usage before starting to use Roihu, and have reviewed the material in Using CSC HPC Environment Efficiently online course.

How to obtain the service
To use the service the you must have a CSC user account and a CSC Project, which can be applied for research or education purposes via MyCSC. The service access also needs to be activated in MyCSC. Instructions in Docs CSC. Commercial users: please contact our Service desk.
Service is free of charge for use cases defined in the CSC free of charge policy. For other users, please contact CSC's Service Desk. Puhti users need CPU and/or GPU Billing Units (BU), as well as Storage BUs to use services.
