Service description
The Language Bank of Finland (Kielipankki) is a service for researchers using language resources across digital humanities and social sciences. The Language Bank hosts a wide variety of text and speech corpora and tools for studying them. The corpora can be analyzed and processed with the Language Bank’s tools, or downloaded. The Language Bank's users are researchers, teachers and students who are interested in text, speech or video corpora containing natural language and tools for utilizing them. The majority are language researchers but the service is equally well suited to other digital humanities research. Many corpora are publicly accessible, some require logging in. The rights to use restricted resources can be applied via a rights management service.
Technical information
Use of the Language Bank of Finland typically does not require any specific technical skills, except for specialized use cases like Korp advanced search or tools availble in CSC's supercomputing environment.

How to obtain the service
Many of our services are available to the general public. Visit our corpus listing, corpus browser or tools listing. Otherwise, for general academic users, sign in to the service with an account granted by an organization that is a member of either Haka or eduGAIN, or a CSC account. For restricted resources, apply for personal access rights, see application instructions.
Using the Language Bank is free of charge for researchers and students. The Language Bank offers also datasets for a fee to companies.
