Use Allas service for storing and sharing all types of data during your research project
Service description
In Allas you can store static research data that needs to be available for analysis. Allas is also used to host cumulating or slowly changing data. You can host data on Allas as long as your project in MyCSC is active. Allas is a storage service for any type of data. Allas can be used to share data within your research team, or with any other by providing a link. Allas can be used together with CSC's compute services and is suitable for storing sensitive data when data is encrypted. Allas is best suited for data that does not need to be edited after submission.
Technical information
Allas provides industry standard interfaces for accessing your data and Allas can be accessed from Pouta web interface, or command line with a-tools, rclone or s3cmd.

How to obtain the service
To use the service the User must have a CSC user account and a CSC Project, which can be applied for research or education purposes via MyCSC. The service access also needs to be activated in MyCSC. Commercial users: please contact to Service desk.
Service is free of charge for use cases defined in the CSC free of charge policy. For other users, please contact CSC's Service Desk. Free academic use default quota for a new project is 10 TB. Free quota can be extended with application. 1 TB of data stored in Allas consumes 24 billing units (BU) in a day and 8760 BU in a year.
