Service description
CSC Noppe is a cloud platform instantly ready for use. It is especially well-suited for teaching and research. Notebooks provides easy-to-use applications for programming and working with data. Different environments based on Jupyter Notebook, RStudio Server and Apache Spark are available via CSC Noppe. You can access the service via your web browser using a CSC account or your home organisation's Haka or Virtu credentials. Teachers can create a teaching environment or produce their own teaching materials.
Technical information
The use of CSC Noppe does not require any prior knowledge on programming or system management. Nothing new needs to be installed on university computers or students' own laptops.

How to obtain the service
To use the service the User must have Haka, Virtu or a CSC user account. Also MOOC authentication is valid for MOOC courses. A CSC account can be created for research or education purposes via MyCSC.
