The EOSC Federation

The European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) is the EU’s flagship initiative for the digital transformation of research. In 2025, the EOSC Federation was formed to drive forward the advancement of innovation and data-driven science.

The EOSC Federation is a growing network of trusted research infrastructures, data repositories, and services that enables researchers across Europe to discover, access, share, and reuse research data and digital resources. The EOSC Federation connects national, institutional, and thematic platforms through interoperable EOSC nodes, making scientific resources more accessible across disciplines and borders.

By fostering collaboration, interoperability, and the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable), the EOSC Federation helps to create a more open and efficient research ecosystem. Researchers, institutions, and service providers can work together within a trusted environment that supports science, innovation, data sovereignty, and the advancement of Open Science in Europe.
